Charismatic, engaging, and multi-talented Texas musician, singer, and songwriter (with the famous name that makes Googling him a challenge), Michael Jackson is known around the area as “Jackson”. Jackson’s career spans 20 some odd years in Austin, TX (and surrounding areas), including the release of five original CDs. Jackson has written hundreds of songs and co-written with Derek Holt (Climax Blues Band) and W.C. Clark (cowriter of Stevie Ray Vaughan’s “Cold Shot). Over the years, various artists have covered Jackson’s music. When asked about it he says, “It’s always a humbling, incredible experience when Texas artists cover my songs.”

Jackson has performed and recorded with Kim Deschamps (Cowboy Junkies), Mark Andes (Spirit, Heart), Gregg Rolie (Santana, Journey), Barbara K (Timbuk 3). He was part of a band named “Best New Act 2008” in the Austin Chronicle’s Critic’s Poll (Iron City Soul Shakers).

Jackson has performed on stages such as Kerrville Folk Festival, Old Settler’s Music Festival, Antone’s, Saxon Pub, Stubbs, La Zona Rosa, Hole in the Wall, Gruene Hall, Luchenbach, and Cactus Cafe, to name a few.  Jackson’s original music ranges from Texas Americana to hints of bluegrass, funk, classic rock, and country.
